How Much Does Shopee Philippines Charge Sellers?

Selling on Shopee incurs a commission fee, which sellers must pay in order to continue to benefit from the marketplace’s services and benefits. There is a difference in fees charged to sellers in the Shopee Marketplace and sellers at the Shopee Mall. The following is a complete explanation of both.

Shopee Marketplace 

Shopee commission fee Philippines 2022 in existing Marketplace will be set to 2% beginning April 18, 2022. This will enable Shopee to improve their platform services, seller related features, and support programs, as well as deliver more shopping campaigns to assist their sellers in growing with them.

• New Marketplace sellers will not be charged the commission fee until 6 months after their first listing on the platform.
• Marketplace sellers who participate in the Free Shipping Special (FSS) and/or Coins Cashback (CCB) programs will pay a 1% commission fee rather than the newly adjusted 2%.
• Marketplace sellers who participate in the free trial of the FSS / CCB program will still be charged a 2% commission fee.
• The FSS / CCB program’s Seller Commission Fee and Service Fee are calculated separately.

Shopee Mall

The Commission Fee is an access fee charged to sellers in order for them to continue using Shopee Mall’s services and benefits. Shopee will begin charging new commission fees on Shopee Mall transactions on July 1, 2021. 

The current Shopee commission fee Philippines 2021 for Shopee Mall of 2% will be adjusted in accordance with the table below. These commission fees are consistent with industry norms and will allow them to operate in a more sustainable manner.

The mall commission fees include Shopee VAT Philippines. Here are the steps for determining the commission fee for an order.

1. Navigate to My Income. 
2. Select and click on an order to expand and display more information.
3. Expand and display the Commission Fee for the selected order by clicking on the Fees & Charges area.

Both the Cashback and Free Shipping programs have service fees. Sellers in either program will be charged a percentage of the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for all completed orders.

Sellers participating in the Cashback Program will be charged a 3% service fee, with a maximum of ₱100 per item. Sellers participating in the Free Shipping Program will be charged a 5% service fee.

VAT is included in the FSS and CCS service fees. CCS sellers in certain categories will be charged a 2% service fee.

Is There a Fee for Sellers on Shopee?

Sellers are charged Shopee seller fees for each successful order. There are two types of seller fees: (1) commission fees and (2) transaction fees. If the seller participates in certain marketing campaigns, such as the Coins Cashback and Free Shipping Programs, they will be charged an additional (3) service fee. 

Shopee’s Paid Ads, Coins Cashback Program, and Free Shipping Program all have service fees.

The Coins Cashback (CCB) and Free Shipping (FSS) programs are high-performance programs that have been shown to significantly increase sales for all participating sellers. Sellers participating in either the CCB or FSS programs will be charged a percentage of the Cost Of Goods Sold (COGS) for all completed orders. 

Sellers in the Cashback Program will be charged a 3% service fee, with a maximum of  ₱100 per item, whereas sellers in the Free Shipping Program will be charged a 5% service fee.

How Much Does Shopee Charge per Item?

Shopee does not charge per item, but per transaction. A transaction fee is a fee charged to cover the cost of payment transactions. • Buyers cancelled.
• Sellers’ cancellation.
• The system automatically cancels.
• Returned / Refunded.

In terms of Shopee tax for sellers, sellers are responsible for reporting their own taxes (including, if applicable, VAT) to the BIR. When the customer confirms the payment release, the fee is automatically deducted from the seller’s account.
