How to change Instagram to a business account on desktop? To access all the Instagram features available in Hootsuite, your business profile must be connected to a Facebook Page. You don’t need to publish to the Page when you use Instagram, but the permissions to manage your Instagram profile are granted to Hootsuite through Facebook. This is a requirement from Facebook (which owns Instagram). 

How to change Instagram to a business account on mac? If you have an Instagram creator profile, follow these steps to convert it to a business profile in Instagram:

  • In the Instagram app, go to your profile, and then select the menu in the top right.
  • Select Settings and then select Account.
  • Scroll to the bottom of Account, select Switch Account Type and then Switch to Business Account.

  • An Admin or Editor page role for that Facebook Page if it’s a Classic Page type or Facebook access with full control or partial control on a New Page type. If the Page is an asset in Facebook Business Manager, you need management access to the Page in the Business Manager account as well.

Convert Your Instagram Personal Profile to a Business Profile

Is an Instagram business account free? A while back, Instagram rolled out Instagram for Business, which made insights and analytics and post promotion available to marketers. Since the update, the social platform has introduced a number of other features for Business profiles, including Instagram Shopping and Instagram TV.

Making the switch is pretty easy. Navigate to your profile in Instagram (for mobile), and under Account Settings you’ll see an option called “Switch to Business Profile.” You will then be asked to log into Facebook within the app.

After that, you’ll be asked to select which Facebook page you want to connect to. You must be an admin of the page you’re wanting to connect to and can only connect one Instagram Business profile and Facebook page together.

Instagram will then ask which contact information you want to pull from your Facebook page, such as customer service phone number, email address or mailing address. A minimum of one contact is required to set up an Instagram Business profile.

The variations include a “Contact” button which accesses the contact info previously mentioned, the business type you have selected within Facebook and at the top right next to your settings cog wheel is your access to Insights.

Brands can create a Business profile by connecting their Facebook page (remember that Facebook owns Instagram) to their Instagram account.

  • Sign in to Facebook and select Pages from the menu on the left.
  • Select the Page you want to connect your Instagram profile to.
  • Select Settings at the bottom of the Manage Page menu on the left.
  • Select Instagram in the Page Settings menu.
  • Select Connect Account, and then select Continue.
  • Enter your Instagram account credentials (username and password) and then select Log In.
  • You may be prompted automatically to convert your Instagram profile. Choose Business. If not, select Get Started or Switch Now to convert your personal profile to a business profile.

On Instagram, you can convert your personal profile to a business account to access features that can help you grow your business. You may only have five Instagram accounts at a time. To switch your profile to a business account:

  • Go to your profile and tap Menu in the top right-hand corner.
  • Tap Settings. For some accounts, the Switch to professional account option will be listed directly under Settings.
  • Tap Account.
  • Tap Switch to a professional account.
  • Tap Continue.
  • Select a category for your business and tap Done.
  • Tap OK to confirm.
  • Tap Business.
  • Tap Next.
  • Add contact details and tap Next. Or tap Don’t use my contact info to skip this step.
  • If you’d like, you can follow the steps to connect your business account to a Facebook Page associated with your business. This step is optional and will make it easier to use all of the features available for businesses across the Facebook family of apps. At this time, only one Facebook Page can be connected to your business account.
  • Tap X in the top-right corner to return to your profile.
